U.S. Beneficial Ownership Information Registry Requirements - 2024

Dymax International Services

Jan 22, 2024

As of 2024 companies incorporated within the United States are required to file information on their Beneficial Owners.

Existing Companies Have to File this information during 2024; New Companies Must File Within 60 Days of Creation or Registration.

The deadline for filing this information is September 30, 2024 for existing companies. For companies incorporated in 2024, they have 90 days from the time of incorporation to file the required information.

Beneficial ownership information reporting is not an annual requirement. There will be a one time fee included in your annual renewal invoice related to this matter to assure timely compliance. A report only needs to be submitted once, unless the filer needs to update or correct information. Generally, reporting companies must provide four pieces of information about each beneficial owner:

  • Name;

  • Date of birth;

  • Address; and

  • The identifying number and issuer from either a non-expired U.S. driver’s license, a non-expired U.S. passport, or a non-expired identification document issued by a State (including a U.S. territory or possession), local government, or Indian tribe. If none of those documents exist, a non-expired foreign passport can be used. An image of the document must also be submitted.

The company must also submit certain information about itself, such as its name(s) and address. We are reviewing our records and will contact our clients individually to confirm that the information in file is accurate and updated or if it requires any update. As always, if you have any questions about these updates, please feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help.
